Six Months Old

January 2019

Miss Cecilia June is half a year old!

She continues to be a little ball of smiles, but she seems to have started to develop a little separation anxiety. A couple of times she has gotten pretty sad when meeting new people or seeing someone she hasn't seen in a while. She is still happy at daycare drop-off luckily!

Snuggles on a pitstop our way to Cadillac for Christmas. She has been one extreme or the other on long car trips. Either she sleeps the entire time or cries the entire time!

Cecilia has been kicking and grabbing a lot more this month. She is now able to grab a toy and pull it to her mouth. She loves to grab her feet and to stare at her hands. Adrienne has been calling them her "Robot Hands" because is always opening them and closing them like a robot.

She has been getting pretty snuggly with Bruce. Bruce doesn't seem to mind. He is a pro with babies after dealing with Adrienne for so long!

Adrienne loves it when Cecilia sits on her new bed. They have been snuggling a lot together this month!

Cecilia is still quite the screamer. Every couple of days she gets in the screaming mood and goes on like this for an hour or so.

We had to move her crib down for the first time. She rolls all around now and we didn't want her to roll right out! She was a little confused at first as to why she couldn't reach her mobile anymore.

She has started to sit in her high chair while we eat dinner. No food yet for Cecilia but we will start any day now!

Cecilia moved up to 9 month clothes. I had fun reminiscing while going through all of Adrienne's old clothes.

I still can't believe our little girl is halfway to one year old. She is still are tiny peanut and we can't get enough of her sweet smile!

Christmas 2018

December 2018

We were so excited for Christmas this year! This was our first year where Santa was a "thing". Adrienne was all about him. She quickly adopted "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" as her favorite Christmas song. She also loved decorating the tree. Every morning she had a new ornament in her stocking that she got to put on the tree. Not all of them made it to the tree in one piece, but she enjoyed the surprise every day! Cecilia also liked looking at the tree. It was fun watching her stare at all of the decorations.

We never had a tree at our old house (not enough room). This year we purchased a fake tree and a new star topper. We quickly realized that next year we need all new lights as half of them went out after the tree was decorated 🙄

We went to Williamston's "Parade of Lights". We tried to go as a family, but it was way too cold for Cecilia. She went home and snuggled with Daddy while Adrienne and I watched the parade. Adrienne liked the fire dancers and catching snow on her tongue.

We went to Cadillac for Christmas. The girls got some quality time with their Aunts and Uncles and Cousin Henry.

Next year Cecilia got partake in the festivities a bit more. This year she sat back and watched everyone. But she sure was cute doing it!

We haven't had much snow yet this year. Adrienne enjoyed playing in the snow with Daddy!

After our trip to Cadillac we went home to find out that Santa had visited our house too! Adrienne and Cecilia got to open a few more presents. Cecilia got a pack of play scarves. Adrienne was just as excited about them and they both enjoyed rolling around in them and throwing them up in the air. They even made an appearance a few days later when we celebrated New Years Eve.

Adrienne also thought Santa was wrapping the presents up just a little too tight.

Our final Christmas celebration was in Holland with the Howell side of the family. This was our first time meeting Leo in person and it was so fun to have all of the babies all together along with the older cousins. We even got a picture of all three babies holding hands!

We also got a night out with all of the adults. Amy's parents along with two babysitters watched all 8 kids for us. We did a DaVinci themed escape room and were able to escape with time to spare! 

We also went to the arcade and Josh and Amy had a bit of a Ski-ball challenge. I won big on Wheel of Fortune and we were able to get the kids a bunch of little toys with our points. Adrienne really liked the popper we got her and all of the kids loved the Fun Dip candy.

I don't remember who ended up scoring more points. A tie maybe?

Cecilia was zonked out by the time we got home. Grammy enjoyed some cuddles.

Five Months Old

December 2018

Cecilia June is five months old!

The biggest new activity for Cecilia this month was rolling over. She started rolling just a little bit at the beginning of December. She quickly became a pro at rolling from back to front. So much so that when I put her in her crib she instantly rolls onto her belly. It made for some sleepless nights. She is still working on rolling belly to back and has only done it a handful of times so far. Adrienne enjoys "helping" Cecilia roll over.

Cecilia really enjoys her baths. She has started to splash so much that we had to move her bathtub from the kitchen counter to inside the regular bath. She is now able to splash as much as she wants! When she is in the tub she is either kicking like crazy or smiling happily. She loves her baths!

Lots of sister snuggling happening here. Adrienne is starting to tell Cecilia to "stop" if she pushes on her or pulls her hair. She doesn't quite understand that Cecilia isn't doing it on purpose. At least she asks her to stop nicely!

Cecilia went to her 4 month checkup. She is doing great and growing right on pace! She is a little peanut and towards the bottom of the growth curve, which was no surprise.

Sleep has been rough this month. We are back to up between 2-4 times a night. On the weekends, once she gets back to get she likes to sleep in pretty late. I try not to complain since we did get so lucky those first few months with sleep. I know the nighttime snuggles won't last and I will probably miss it when she is sleeping in as a teenager.

Some mornings Cecilia is up with me while I get ready for work.

Cecilia continues to be really excited about screaming as loud as she can (happy screams). She also has been making new sounds with her lips and she is pretty excited about it.

Another month has flown by. Our sweet Cecilia is growing so fast!
